Tony & Denver

Tony was in Denver all last week for work. Collin was ok with it for the first few days and then by Thursday he had a meltdown and was sobbing about how he wanted daddy to come home, etc. On Friday afternoon we went to pick Tony up from the airport. When Collin saw him he ran and jumped into his arms and gave Tony the world's longest hug. He then told Tony "Daddy you cannot go to "Denbur" anymore. You have to stay home with Collin." It was sweet.

Misc. Funny Stuff.....

The last couple days Collin has been telling me that tommorow is my birthday. He will say things like. "Mommy tommorow is your birthday and I bought you 2 presents, but you have to wait until tommorow to open them." Today he told me my birthday present is a Christmas tree with ornaments and decorations.

With Tony being out of town this week, I decided to do some fun stuff with Collin to pass the time that we are missing Tony. So I told him we were going to go see the new Winnie The Pooh Heffalump Movie, get popcorn and drinks. So I bring him to the office and pull up the preview for the movie online. He watches the preview and even asks to watch it several times. So then I ask him "would you like to go with mommy to see the new Pooh movie." He says "NO that is a girls movie." So then I take my mom's advice and say "well mommy's a girl, will you go with me to the movie?" He says(screams rather), "NO MOMMY you aren't a girl, you are Susie." Needless to say we aren't going to see the movie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He has gotten "How are you" and "How old are you" confused. If you ask him "how are you" he replies "I'm 3." If you ask him how old he is, you get the same answer. So I have been trying to teach him that when someone asks "How are you" you need to tell them how you feel. He says ok. So we give it a test run.
Me: "Collin, how are you?"
Collin: "I'm 3, mommy you are 5 and daddy is 2."
Collin's NEW BED
Collin's new bed was delivered on Friday. He was SOOOOO excited! Once
it was put together, he said that it was "Beautiful." Then he told us
that we were the best mom & dad ever. He has slept on it every
night since he got it. He goes to sleep on the bottom bed, but we have
caught him asleep on the top bunk. One time he was playing in his room
and I guess he climbed up there and fell asleep. The other time, he
woke up early and did the same thing. The first night he had the bed,
Tony put a blanket up so it was like Collin was in a little tent/fort.
So now he has to have that done every night. We are SO glad that
he likes the bed. Now all I have to do is find some bedding
that we like so we can re-do the room.
Collin got a new bed yesterday......
Collin has outgrown his race car toddler bed, so we bought him a new bed yesterday. It won't be delivered until Thursday, but he is SO excited. We showed him a picture of it from a website and he was all ready to move it in. He said it was "beautiful." Then once we took him to the furniture store, he didn't want to leave. He had SO much fun looking at all of the beds.
Sick
Collin has been sick this past week with the flu. He is just now getting better but lo and behold I have caught what he has had. Yesterday I was laying on the couch and he was watching a movie. I dozed off (not too sure how long I was asleep) but I woke up and had not opened my eyes yet. All fo the sudden I get the feeling that I'm being watched. I open my eyes and Collin is staring at me with his face about 2 inches from my face with this blank look on his face. What a way to wake up!
Video Games - like father like son
Collin LOVES video games. He is so "into" them that it is funny and amazing. We have an old stand up arcade game in the garage, and whenever Tony gets home - Collin is all over him to "go in the garage and play the game." The kid is better at it than I am, I mean that doesn't take much - but still he's only 3. He got a V-Smile (kid video game system) for Christmas from Bridgette & Caitlyn & he is a little addict to that as well. I have to hide it from him so he doesn't play it 24/7. He even knows how to hook it up to the TV. He knows that the yellow plug goes in the yellow hole, rred plug - red hole, etc. I wonder what this house is going to be like when Tony & Collin start playing games against each other & start competing over who's turn it is , etc. :)
Kitties vs. Doggies
Today we were driving to the post office and we saw a small puppy running in the neighborhood. Collin then tells me that he doesn't have a puppy, he has 3 kitties and he is just going to love the kitties.
The "Circus"
One day while visiting Nanny & Papa, we drove down to Orlando for the day. We had some time to kill, so we went to Pleasure Island and walked around the shops, etc. I kept telling him that this was where Mickey Mouse lived, etc. He was SO EXCITED. He was running around and was pulling my arm, leading me to where he wanted to go. It was so cute to see him so excited. When he saw the Buzz Lightyear statue, he started screaming in delight "Mom Mom look it's BUZZ!!!" When he saw Winnie the Pooh he said "Mom, it's Pooh and Tigger!!!"
Upon seeing his reaction, I thought - Ok maybe he is ready for Disney World. But after 45 minutes of walking/running around - he says "Mom, I'm tired - carry you." That was when I realized there was NO WAY he could make a full day at Disney. We will have to wait a few more years.
After we left, he told me "Mom, I had SO MUCH fun at The Circus." It was so funny! Then the next morning when he woke up he said "Mom, can we go back to the circus?" I told him that we would have to take daddy with us next time.
Collin and the golf cart
Collin and the golf cart. Posted by Hello
Once we left Boca, we headed back to Ocala to spend a couple days with Nanny and Papa. Of course, Collin wanted to drive the golf cart. So we go for a ride. As I'm driving, he tells me to "go faster" and then he proceeds to put the petal to metal. It felt like we were going 55 mph. He had SO much fun. And of course Nanny made him chocolate chip cookies which he gobbled up in minutes.
FLORIDA ROADTRIP
Collin and I went on a roadtrip to Florida this week. Tony had to go out of town to Denver (or as Collin calls it Denber), so we packed up the car and headed down to Florida. We stopped by Nanny & Papa's in Ocala and spent the night and then we headed down to my friend Terri's house in Boca. We both had SO much fun. Terri's son Brandon is a year older than Collin and the two of them always have the best time when we get together. They were refering to each other as "my buddy" during our visit.
One afternoon we went for a walk with the kids. Brandon is riding his bike and Collin is chasing after him. We see a woman and little girl approaching us. The woman must of been Musilm or something because she was wearing the garb with her face and body wrapped, etc. After they pass us, Collin turns to me and says "Hey Mom look, it's a shepherd." I couldn't stop laughing.
Collin watches a cartoon show called "Dragon Tales" and during the begining part of the show, the 2 main characters say "I wish I wish with all my heart; to fly with dragons in a land of art." So, the first morning we were there, Collin woke up and he didn't know I was awake. He started saying "I wish I wish with all my heart, to go home to daddy and the kitties." It was SO cute and funny. He missed his daddy SO SO much. But of course when it was time to leave he told me that he wasn't going to come home, that he was going to live at Brandon's. So I had to tell him that mommy and daddy would be so sad if he didn't come home with me. So he thinks about it for a minute, and then he told me that he would come home. He told Brandon that he had to go back to Nanny and Papa's house to eat chocolate chip cookies and to drive their golf cart.
Well the time has come......
Collin officially knows how to use a mouse and he has taken over my computer. Tony got him a small child size mouse and now Collin is going to town. He can navigate and play all sorts of games. The first day he used it - he played for over 2 hours. So now I guess I am going to have to break out my laptop if I want to use a computer in this house. Like father like son I guess!
Collin - The Photographer
Collin has become quite the photographer. He just loves to take pictures. Everytime he sees the camers, he asks if he can take your "cheese." Here are some pictures he has taken recently.
You mean this isn't snow? Posted by Hello
Ice Storm Posted by Hello
Ice Storm
Last weekend we had a ice storm come through. We woke up Saturday morning and the lawn, streets and cars were covered in ice. Of course Collin insisted that it was snow and stated that he wanted to make a snowman and snow angels.
