Last Soccer Game

Saturday was Collin's last soccer game (and of course the much anticipated moment when he gets his trophy). Collin played 2 games and scored a bunch of goals in each game (we lost count after he scored 7 goals). His coach told us there is a Spring League and we should sign him up because he is really good. That was nice to hear (of course we already knew he was the best on the team).

He was so sxcited when he got his trophy. This was the moment he had been anticipating. When we got to the car, Tony was holding his trophy and Collin kept getting onto to him to "hold it with 2 hand so you don't break it." Once we got home, he went and put it on his bookshelf. Last night, he got it out and was admiring it. He is so proud of himself. We asked him what he wants to play next and he said "baseball, so I can get another trophy."

Pajama Day at Preschool

Collin had Pajama Day last this past Friday. I asked him what pj's he wanted to wear & he said "Buzz Lightyear, so I can show my friends the green guys (martians)." The kids were also told to bring in their favorite bear. Collin decided to take "Curly Bear." Well unfortunatley, Curly was lost by the time I came to pick him up. He was so upset & crying. His teacher said he never came to the room with a bear & he was crying. She assumed he forgot the bear at home. So we went to all the classrooms and looked to see if we could find Curly, but we had no luck. His teacher said she would send a note home to all the parents on Monday to see if Curly went home with someone else (this was what I assumed happened to Curly). So as we are walking to the car, Collin is trying to pull me in the other direction back towards the school. He was saying "we can't leave him, we have to find him."

So to appease him, we went back in the school to look again. This time, I decided to look in every closet and corner. I opened up the toy chest and there is Curly, buried among the toys. Collin was SOOOOO happy that he started crying in delight. Then he told me what happened to Curly (he wouldn't tell me earlier what happened). He said that he let a little girl hold Curly & then he forgot to get Curly back. Curly must have just gotten tossed in the toy box when the girl was done holding him. We were all relieved to have Curly Bear.

Misc. Collin stuff

Collin is so "into" getting to be a big brother and us having a baby. He kisses and hugs my stomach about 10 times a day. He has also started asking the baby questions. He will look at my stomach and say "Baby, what's your favorite color?" and then put his ear up to my stomach to listen. He usually tells me "the baby didn't answer, I think he's asleep." He also has been telling me that Santa needs to bring the baby a rattle, because babies like rattles. And it doesn't help that everyday he tells me that my stomach is getting bigger....lol. His teacher today asked if he had a big brother. I told her no, but we are expecting a baby in the spring. She said that he has been telling the class/teachers that he has a big brother. I told her that he's going to be a big brother, but right now he is the only child (not for long). It's cute that he's telling his friends about our exciting news.

He has been in school for one month now and he loves every minute of it. He got to be playground leader last week & that was a big deal to him. He is learning more Spanish than last year. He can now count to ten in Spanish & he knows some colors & some misc. words. It's cute because if I say it wrong, he will correct me.

On Saturday, he asked Tony & I if he could get a snowboard. We asked him what was he going to do with it & he said "tricks." He said he wants a blue one like Brent's. (Brent stored his snowboard in our garage over the summer).

A couple weeks ago, I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween. He thought about it for a minute & then he said "a bat." I asked him "you mean Batman?" he said "no just a bat." So he is going as a bat this year. His costume is very simple, but it's cute & original. He has already started making "bat noises." He is so excited for Halloween. Then, he asked me a few days ago what I was going to be for Halloween. I told him that I was just going to be a mommy. He said "well you need to get a mommy costume."

Soccer game part 2

Collin had another soccer game last Saturday. He scored 3 goals all in the first 5 minutes of the game. Next week is his last week & he will get his trophy! He is so excited about that trophy. He tell us "I'm going to put my trophy in my room & no babies can touch it." His favorite part after the game is going to his favorite restuarant for lunch and then watching the video footage of the game. He has already started saying he wants to play baseball next. So we just may have to sign him up for tee-ball in the spring. This has been such a fun experience for all of us. Here are some pictures from Saturday. The band-aid on his forehead is covering the stitches he had to get a couple weeks ago. He is ALL boy!
