It's Your Birthday Today!

Collin has been telling us "It's your Birthday today" for quite some time now. This morning he told Tony "Dad, today is your birthday, we need to put up your decorations and get your cake." It's so funny. On Saturday he told me that it was my birthday, later on he told Tony it was his birthday, then a couple hours later he said it was his birthday. I had to run to the grocery store to pick up a few things later that evening. While I was shopping, I decided to buy him a slice of birthday cake from the bakery. So when I got home, I told him I had a treat & I showed him the birthday cake. He immediately said "MY BIRTHDAY CAKE!!" So after dinner I got out my "You Are Special" plate, put his cake on it and we sang Happy Birthday To Collin. It was so cute and he was SO excited!!!

More Misc Funny Stuff

Today we ran into Walmart to pick up a Wedding card for one of Tony's co-workers. Of course we walk right past "The Incredibles" DVD display. Collin starts saying "THE INCREDIBLES, MOM MOM THE INCREDIBLES." So I keep going. Of course we were going to get it (I think Tony wants it just as much/if not more than Collin does). But I wanted to give it as an Easter gift. Collin kept saying "I'VE GOT TO GET IT FOR MY DAD, HE NEEDS IT." I heard this repeatedly for about 5 minutes until we went to the checkout. I went ahead and grabbed the movie because I know Tony was going to buy it anyway on his way home & had planned to watch it with Collin tonight anyway. So we get to the car & Collin keeps saying "that is dad's Incredibles DVD movie."

Mr. Potato Head

Collin made a Mr. Potato Head at school a week ago.  We have been watering it hoping it would grow. Well... it did! This has become a morning ritual to see how much hair has grown on Mr. Potato Head.

Piggy Bank

Last night we walked down to our neighbor Scott's house and got on the topic of Piggy Banks. Scott asks Collin if he has a piggy bank, Collin tells him that he does. But in reality, Collin doesn't have a piggy bank. So when I tell Scott, "No he doesn't have a piggy bank." Scott goes and gets one that he has laying around & gives it to Collin. It's a cute little pig made out of a resin material. We get home and Collin starts hunting for "pennies" - that is what he calls any form of money. So Tony and I give him a bunch of loose change. Well for the next hour or so, he keeps putting the money in the bank, dumps it out, puts it in his pocket and walks around for a minute, then starts emptying his pocket and putting it back in the bank. This vicious cycle goes on for about an hour. So last night Tony puts him to bed and Collin brings the piggy bank to bed with him. When we go to bed, we both go in his room and check on him and his bed is covered in money. There was probably $3 or $4 in loose change all over his bed. So we pick up all the money and put it back in his bank. This morning when he woke up he ran to his piggy bank & started emptying it again. This is going to be a funny thing to watch because right now he just loves carrying that pig around & rattling the change. I think he feels all grown up!

NO MORE DIAPERS!!!

Collin is out of diapers!!! We are all SO proud of him and I'm excited that I don't have to change diapers anymore! On Sunday night he announced that he wasn't going to wear diapers anymore and that he was going to wear underwear. This has totally been on his terms and when he decided to do it. He has been very good about letting me know that he has to go. Of course he has had an accident here and there, but nothing like last month when I tried to make him do it and he never made it to the potty. I think he will be totally off diapers in a week. Right now he is wearing a diaper at night, but every morning he wakes up dry and tells me "get this diaper off of me and give me my Buzz/Woody underwear." We are going to take him to the movies in a couple weeks for a job well done!!!
