IT'S A GIRL!!

Well the verdict is in that we are having a GIRL. Collin was hoping for a boy, Tony was hoping for a girl and I was more leaning towards a boy also. But once the ultrasound tech said it was a girl, I got excited. Collin went with us to the ultrasound. The ultrasound tech really catered more towards him and less towards us. The baby was moving her arms around & the tech told Collin "Your sister is waving to you Collin." Then the baby was kicking her legs and Collin thought that was funny. The tech gave him his very own picture of the baby.

After the appointment, I had to "sell" Collin on the idea of having a sister. Most of his friends have little sisters. Once I reminded him of that, he thought it was COOL to have a sister. It also helped when we told him he won't have to share too many of his toys.

The day after the ultrasound appt, Collin decided he wanted to take his ultrasound picture to show his friends at school. At the same time, Tony took one of the pictures for his desk at work. We are all excited about having a baby girl.

We have decided on a first name, but we are still working on a middle name. Her first name is going to AVERY. Collin tells everyone that his sister is "Baby Avery." We are all getting more and more excited for Baby Avery's arrival.

Chattanooga Trip

This past week, Collin & I went up to Chattanooga with Nanny to watch Brack & Eileens kids while they went out of town. Collin had a blast. He got to play "Star Wars" with John everyday. I would see him walking around with 2 Light-Sabers attached to his jean belt loops. Every morning he would ask John "Let's play Star Wars." He also had lots of fun with Lindsey. The two of them were laughing and wrestling on the floor. The morning we left, I told him we were going home. He started crying & I asked him what was wrong. He said he wanted to go home to see daddy, but he didn't want to leave "The Cousins." On the drive home, he asked me "Who is going to be the cousins mommy since we left?" I told him that Nanny was there to take care of the cousins. Then I said "Was I the 'Cousins Mommy'?" He said "NO - Nanny was the cousins mommy." It was so funny.

The Zoo

Last weekend, I took Collin to the zoo. He said that he first wanted to see the giraffes & said that they are his favorite. He had so much fun. The map that was given to us when we bought our tickets became his best friend. He kept saying "Mom, I need to see the map." And then he would dictate where we would go. He thought he was in charge. For the first time ever, he actually went in the petting zoo. In the past, he was scared of all the animals - but not this time. We both had a really fun time.

Halloween

This year for Halloween, Collin decided he wanted to be a BAT. I had to buy his costume on the internet & this is the only "BAT" costume out there. The costume was goofy, but he looked cute all dressed up. I will give him credit, being a bat for Halloween is very original compared to the usual costumes kids choose. When he first put the costume on, he got on the couch and tried to fly off the couch like a bat. It was cute. He gots lots and lots of candy & he would ask us "does this have nuts?" before eating any candy. He is starting to understand that he can't have nuts & that nuts make him sick. Of ALL the candy he got, peppermint's were his favorite.

Pumpkin Patch

Collin & I went with some friends to a Pumpkin Patch a few weeks before Halloween. We got to take a hay ride and then we picked out a couple pumpkins. Collin had lots of fun with his "girlfriends."
